Dr. N. Pavan Kumar

Assistant Professor

Qualification: M.Sc, Ph.D
Specialization: Solid State Physics

Biography

Had his M.Sc Degree in Physics from the Osmania University, Hyderabad. Following that, he has joined Ph.D. and chosen the topic of Magnetic, electrical and thermal properties of manganite based multiferroics. He has awarded with a senior research fellowship during 2013-14 from CSIR and Young Scientist of Year 2016 from Telangana Academy of Sciences, Telangana. He proved his capabilities as an independent researcher (Principal Investigator) by obtaining funds from UGC (Minor Research Project-2015) and DST (Young Scientist Fellowship Scheme-2017) under which he got 28 Lakhs of funds. Currently he is working on magnetoelectric devices for energy harvesting applications, magnetocaloric effect studies on multiferroics for cryo cooling applications in bulk, tape and thin film forms. His experimental work included material synthesis by chemical routes, vacuum arc melting, thin film techniques and structural characterization by X-Ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, calorimetry and magnetic measurements using vibrating sample magnetometer, magneto electrical transport."
