About Department
Mechanical Engineering department was established in the year 2011 with an intake 60 students. The department is accredited by NBA in 2019. The Department is headed by Dr. M. V. Kishore, who has a teaching experience of 15 years and an industry experience of 12 years. The Department has 14 eminent faculty having rich industry and academic experience well supported by experienced laboratory assistants and technicians. Department has 4 doctorates and 5 faculty are pursuing their PhD. Our students are consistently securing University ranks and obtained 1st rank in 2020, 3rd rank in 2019 and 7th rank in 2015. Department has well established state of art Laboratories namely Dynamics Lab, Engineering Workshop, Metallurgy, CAD/CAM/CAE, Manufacturing Process, Hydraulic Machinery & Systems, Metal Cutting & Machine Tools, Thermal Engineering and Metrology & Instrumentation.
The department has very active student clubs namely MECS SAE Collegiate Club and Student chapter of Institution of Engineers (I). Our students have bagged several prizes at state and national level events conducted by SAE like Go-Kart and Efficycle and Electric Solar Vehicle Design Competition. The department has signed MOUs with several reputed organizations like Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers, IIIT Hyderabad (Virtual Labs initiative), IIT Mumbai (Spoken Tutorials), Skill Shark Edutech etc. to conduct various collaborative and skill development programs to improve communication and coding skills, organize workshops, seminars and guest lectures to keep them abreast with latest technologies and improve the placement opportunities.
