About IIC -MECS

Vision (As laid down by the MHRD, Govt. of India)

1. To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities in a time bound fashion.
2. Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
3. Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
4. Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
5. Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students.
6. Organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini challenges, etc. with the involvement of industries.

Mission
To establish a platform to develop cerebral abilities among the students and create a vivacious innovative environment in the Institute.

Journey of IIC at the Institute
Matrusri Engineering College established Institution Innovation Council (IIC) as per the norms of innovation cell, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India during the IIC calendar year 2018-19 for promoting various activities related to innovation, IPR, start-ups and entrepreneurship. Faculty and students are the members of IIC to create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem. IIC-MECS has secured 3.5 Star rating in the first attempt during the IIC calendar year 2019-20. IIC-MECS has secured 4 Star rating for undertaking various activities prescribed by Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India to promote Innovation and Start-up in campus during the IIC calendar year 2020-21.
