Students of Department of Computer Science and Engineering bagged the Second Prize and were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1,50,000/- among top 5 college student teams who exhibited their product “SfUIT” at the Assistive Technology Exhibition 2021 held on 4th January 2022 at Muffakham Jah College Grounds. The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Department of Disabled & Senior Citizens Welfare. The event was graced by Commissioner for Welfare of Disabled and various other dignitaries.
Our students’ idea was first short listed in the top 250 ideas and was given the opportunity to participate in the Assistive Technology Summit 2.0 Pitch Day held on 3rd December 2021. Out of the 250 participants, our students were again shortlisted among the 25 participants who were allowed to pitch their prototype model. Out of 25 participants now our students are in the top 5 selected college students category who will exhibit their product along with other categories like grass root innovators, start-ups, innovations by national institutions.
The product developed by our students is called the “SfUIT” which is a wearable device. It is “Smart” because it monitors pulse, body temperature and oxygen levels of a person through sensors and transmits the same to a mobile app or a web app via internet. The product can be customized according to the user requirement and is quite economical.
